  St John Baptist Church was established in the early 1800's. It is the first known Black Church in the Waugh Community. It was and has been a strong outstanding church where many lives has been changed and souls has been saved. It still stands on a strong foundation that is built on the byline of the Holy Bible. I have been a member for over 50 years and have never seen the righteous forsaken or the seeds begging for bread. "TOGETHER WE STAND, DIVIDE WE FALL. WE ARE STILL STANDING TALL AND STRONG. PRAISE GOD"
